Faculty of Restoration, Art History and Theory

The Faculty of Restoration and Conservation, Art History and Theory was established in its present form in 2005.

 

The Faculty aims to study and to teach Georgian art and Georgian culture, in general; to conduct interdisciplinary research, within coinciding and synchronizing the research and teaching processes, that implies accumulation of the significant research potential at the faculty, as well as, teaching the students through their involvement in the research programmes. One of the faculty’s Directions – the Restoration Direction aims to teach the field of the cultural heritage conservation according to the contemporary world standards, as well as, conservation/restoration of the cultural heritage artefacts’ to be based on a scientific approach.

 

The faculty consists of the two directions:

 

· Direction of Art History and Theory
· Direction of Restoration, Conservation

Dean
