On 15 April the TSAA hosted a press conference for media, and announced the start of the  project ‘Traditional Blue Cloth for Developing Creative Industries’, which gained full funding within the UNESCO   PARTICIPATION PROGRAMME for 2020-2021.
Project will be based and realized at the TSAA research laboratory 'Lurji Supra' (blue tablecloth) and aimed at developing an important area of textile design handcraft, historical Georgian textile ‘Blue  Table Cloth’ and the restoration techniques, preserving cultural heritage and supporting the creative industry development in Shida Kartli, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Pankisi, Dusheti,  facilitating an employment in the regions,  integrating the  women living in the regions and the representatives of ethnic minorities.
Project is  structured as the   multi-stage educational-training -seminar-workshops, conference and publication, involving  academics and scholars from  the LEPL National Museum of Georgia (textile direction), National Agency for cultural heritage preservation of Georgia, Azerbaijanian cultural museum of Mirza Fatali Akhundov, Ministry of   Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, field experts of the TSAA Faculty of Design
