We are pleased to inform you that on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the birth of Kirill Zdanevich, the international fine arts competition 'K.Z. Art Prize' was created.
The art of Kiril Zdanevich is very Georgian; at the same time, it unites in its general ideas of different cultural traditions. Each art piece is always interesting and innovative with its unexpected artistic solutions and high-quality professional execution. From this point of view, it is a particularly interesting artistic book, the creation of which was led by Kirile Zdanevich and others in Georgia.
The idea of the artistic book was conceived in France at the beginning of the XXth century as an experiment, a rejection of traditional books, and as a new concept of the book. As a result of this process, new aesthetics of the book was established, which equally united visual and verbal elements. Such books were often created without any printing machine, in the form of a manuscript or stamped assembly. Thus, the artist was the author of the whole conception. Artist uses a form of a book as a source of inspiration and, by applying different methods and techniques, creates art objects. He uses the tradition of the book but creates an experimental book.
The purpose of the contest:
Visualization of a book different from the format and concept of a traditional book;
Promotion of the development of an experimental book;
Raising the interest of the general public around the phenomenon of the artistic book, and popularization of the mentioned field in the Georgian artistic space.

Conditions of the contest:
People working in different fields of art can participate in this competition. Only original works are accepted for the competition.
By submitting an artwork to the contest, you confirm that you own the copyright and that the submitted art piece is your creation.

Evaluation criteria for artistic books presented in this competition: 
Creativity;
Originality of conception;
Skill and quality of execution.
Documents to be submitted for participation in the competition:
CV/portfolio of the participating competitor;
Art book concept (maximum 1 page);
Visual documentation of an artist's book.

Application receipt:
All documents submitted within the competition must be combined in one PDF format under the name 'K.Z. Art Prize' reference.

The application will not be accepted without receiving confirmation from the e-mail address.
The projects entered in the competition will be considered by the commission of invited experts.

Competition deadlines:
Within the framework of the competition, applications can be received from October 22 to November 9, 2022.
competition prize:
The author of the selected artistic book of the competition will receive an award in the amount of 5000 GEL.
